Microwave emission sources with virtual cathode

Microwave emission sources with virtual cathode
Vircator with inductive energy storage
Microwave emission sources with virtual cathode
Vircator with capacitive energy storage
Application

Fundamentally new high-capacity virtual cathode oscillators – vircators were developed and tested. These microwave oscillators allowed us to receive a peak radiation power up to 1 GW, and which are still one of the world-best.

The following virtual cathode systems were developed:

  • Vircators with capacitive energy storage of nanosecond and microsecond impulses.
  • Vircators with inductive energy storage.
  • Vircators with magnetic explosion generator.

Vircator with capacitive energy storage

Application field

  • Development of portable microwave emission sources operating in frequency-batch mode.
  • Radiation influence on materials and facilities.
  • Radio positioning.

Competitive advantages

A wide range of oscillating frequencies, variable radiation frequency, small dimensions, simple design, and operation without external magnet fields are the main advantages of vircators.

Development stage

Short-run manufacturing.

Cooperation proposals

License vending, equipment supply, technical support, and personnel training.
