The Student Musical Union (SMU) was established in September 2009 for TPU postgraduate students who are involved in music and have serious ambitions in terms of concerts and musical activities. Musicians, vocalists, and people who are fond of video, art management, and stylists can become participants in SMU.
There is everything necessary in our union for students and staff to engage in musical creativity, such as different equipment and musical instruments. In our classes, you can learn the basics of ranking and the features of compositional sound production in a musical group. Depending on the workload, the group is given more time for rehearsals in this instance.
Each group has two hours of rehearsals per week. However, there are well-established groups whose repertoire and activity are a significant factor in the SMU’s work. In this case, the group is allotted additional time for rehearsals, depending on the workload.
Also, everyone a with proper warm-up has an opportunity to take part in the scheduled concerts of the Dominanta SMU at the well-equipped venues of the TPU ICC.
The SMU includes students and staff of TPU and other Tomsk universities such as TSU and TUSUR. With rare exceptions, all students are members of musical groups.
